81% of business buyers believe they'd make better decisions if B2B advertising did a better job engaging them.
Make it personal
Show your audience you are not treating them like cogs in a corporate machine. Instead, treat them like human beings. So, talk to them in a way they want to be spoken to about what they care about.
Know your audience
Having a detailed marketing persona is swell and all, but do you know how and where they consume your content?
Light’em up
Be creative. B2B decision-makers are bored. Imagine being flooded with B2B ads, explainers, and brand videos that all look the same.
KISS
Keep it simple, stupid. Don’t overcomplicate your story. The fewer messages you want to convey, the more likely it will be remembered. Have a lot to say? Spread it out between shorter and simpler videos
Don’t be afraid of emotions
There’s a lot to unpack here. When buying, your customers usually have to decide between several similar options. Right? With that impossible choice, they choose the brand they like the most.
When in doubt, use humor
It’s a no-brainer. Laughter releases serotonin. You know, the “feel good hormone”? It’s a simple trick to make your audience engage with the content more, remember it, and generally make your brand likable.

Every project is different, but broadly speaking the production process can be broken down into three phases:
What's the process for making a video?
01
CONSULTATION
We’ll arrange a call or meeting to discuss what you want to achieve with your video, as well as creative ideas about content, tone, and style. What is your message? Who is the audience? Where will this video be seen? How will you measure the success? We will prepare a quote or detailed proposal that works within your budget. You’re welcome to come to us with a detailed brief, or if you just have a vague idea at this stage we can work it out together.
04
Post-production
Once we’ve captured all the footage we’ll get to work on the edit, crafting the footage into a coherent narrative, cutting and adding graphics, titles and music as appropriate. You’ll have chance to review one or more drafts and give feedback before everything is finalised.
05
STORAGE AND ARCHIVING
At Chocolate Films we understand how valuable your footage can be, not just for this project but also for future projects. We archive all of our projects and footage using a long-term LT07 data storage system which will safely store footage for 15-30 years. If you would like a back-up of all your footage, we can copy the content onto your hard drive so you can organise long-term storage
02
Pre-production
This is when we work with you to learn all about your project and together define what it is you need from video. Some of the questions we might explore are: Who is your target audience? What platforms do you want to publish on? What are the key messages you want to communicate?
From there we’ll create a video outline and/or a script, confirm budgets and arrange any filming dates with you.
03
Production
Now the fun of actually making your film! Our team of creative filmmakers will work with our state-of-the-art production kit – from the basics of cameras, lighting and sound equipment to specialised grip kit including gimbals, motion control sliders and drones. If the shot takes place out doors, most of the time you should are prepared that it is done during the sunrise or sunset light, due to much softer light and more cinematic look which is something we always try to implement.

Other Frequently Asked Questions
How long will it take to produce my video?
A common inquiry regarding delivery of a video production- and it depends on many things, including project complexity and client availability for feedback. As a rough guide 2-4 weeks is average for a corporate video. Social videos usually need to be turned around much quicker. We can move as quickly as you can. We find that usually, the most time-consuming part of making a commercial or video is the approval process on the client-side. If you give us the greenlight we can turn around your project extremely quickly.
How many revisions do we get?
You have the option for unlimited revisions at any stage in the video production process. However as a guide we normally allow for 2 rounds of amends on any one stage, with an agreed fee for extra revisions outside of the number stated in the contract. We’ll update you through the production process to ensure you can feedback throughout.
How large is your crew for filming?
This depends on the type of job. For simple talking heads interviews or case studies we can provide a ‘self-shooting’ videographer, who will work alone to capture all the necessary footage. However our preference is for a two- or three-man crew, consisting of a producer/director to oversee the filming and conduct interviews, plus one or two camera operators to concentrate on the visual and technical aspects. This ensures the key messages of the video are covered more effectively. For more complex filming requirements we may also recommend extra crew members, such as additional camera operators, a sound recordist, or a drone operator. These will all be costed separately in our quote.
Do you add voiceovers and music?
Not every project requires a voiceover, but when it does we can provide you with a range of different voiceover samples to choose from and we’ll take care of the rest.
When a background music track is required we can source a suitable track from a royalty-free music library and provide a license for usage in the finished video.
In what format will I receive my video files?
We usually supply our finished videos in the most commonly used formats, typically .mp4 or .mov. However we’re happy to convert these into pretty much any other format free of charge.
Do you do branded content or webisodes?
We do script to any screen or length. We’re passionate about the new wave of advertising and marketing content and feel it’s a great opportunity for both creative talent and brands.
What piece of gear will you use for my production?
We own some of the best production equipment available including cameras able to shoot in 6k resolution, more than 6 times the quality of standard 720 HD broadcast as well as latest technology drones such as FPV’s and new Marvics. This means we’re able to cost effectively provide provide the highest quality lighting, sound and image capture available today. But if you have a passion for something else we can provide an estimate for that too.
Post production
Our in house expertise is in storytelling, cutting, titling and finishing of live action content. That means for clients needing live action production, we have a one stop shop for the industry’s highest production values. However, we often collaborate with the southeasts best animators and effects artist to take projects to the next level
